Crescent Moon

$1,950.00

15” x 8”

Raku firing is a very exciting process whereby claywork is removed from the kiln while at very high heat. I use a Raku style firing process by removing the piece from the kiln at 1050 degrees. The horsehair is applied to the surface of the clay and burns away, leaving a black or white carbon imprint. This piece went through four firings to get the look. Horsehair pottery is an artform of creating unique one of a kind designs that cannot be replicated.
