Eagles Flight

$1,750.00

13.5" x 9.5"

This sculpture represents an image of an “Eagles Flight” from a perch. The sculpture is created from piecing together shards of slate. The shards are created from the chiseling process on larger slate stones from a rock quarry.

Raku firing is a very exciting process whereby pottery is removed from the kiln while at very high heat. I use a Raku style firing process by removing my pottery from the kiln at 1000 degrees. The horsehair is applied to the surface and burns away, leaving a black carbon imprint. Horsehair pottery is an artform of creating unique one of a kind designs that cannot be replicated.
